Intertesting to note that Geo-Spatial information (a central HIC ingredient) was also recognized in the form of UNOSAT. Could it be that some of this stuff is approaching mainstream status? Probably not for a bit I suspect, but at least awareness is up! Keep up the pressure!

Glad to see the general recognition for all those who labored in making HICs a consistant reality and the personal recognition for those lost in the Iraq HIC.

Worth noting that it was Alta Haggarty who proposed the HIC for the UN 21 Awards!

I found a link to a more detailed program. see ... http://unstats.un.org/unsd/un21.pdf
The 14 staff are actually the 14 HIC Teams that have been deployed. Now that would have been a photo op!

Good to see these award coming through ... also AIMS the former Afghanistan HIC received an industry award from ESRI for contribution to GIS... or was that for opening up Afghansitan to ARC GIS?

Either way great to see field Information Management teams being recognised! I trust 2007 will see more focus on inter-agency field support and data standards!
